I am getting a digital voice recorder, what brand should I choose?

Question
I checked out Best Buy's website (it's the first store I thought of) and they seem to have mostly Sony, Panasonic and Olympus. I am thinking Sony is the best (their brand, all their electronics and name recognition) I am going to check out reviews and such but I wouldn't mind hearing from other people on their favorites. I am getting one because I may take singing lessons in the near future and I've heard that teachers will recommend I purchase one, so of course, I wanted to get a head start in picking one out. Thanks to everyone that answers in advance! :) Whoops, I meant to put this in the general category of electronics! Oh and here's the link to the digital voice recorders: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=M4N3PVBFX3PWHKC4D3DVAFQ?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&id=pcat17071&type=page&st=digital+voice+recorder&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=15&sp=&qp=&list=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960
Answer
So, different companies have different specialties. Since you mention that you want one for singing lessons, I'm assuming that the fidelity of the recording is very important to you. (It isn't to everyone, like if you're just using it for transcription.) From what I know, Sony specializes more in recorders with long recording times that work well with automatic transcription. http://digital-voice-recorders.info/sony.html So Sony is good, and has some great features, but if you're not taking advantage of the automatic transcription you may be paying for something you don't need! I'd suggest something from Zoom, actually, as all the brands you mention are more about business and talking and not about music and singing. http://digital-voice-recorders.info/zoom.html
